In our spiritual life, whether there is a fog or a thunderstorm, or conversely a very gentle light, we are always dependent on God's mercy. Once it has caught hold of us, it will never let us go.

As soon as natural things are driven out of the enamored soul, the divine are naturally and supernaturally infused since there can be no void in nature.

Even the poorest and the one most bowed down under the weight of sins can stand before the Lord and pray for someone else. First, because the Lord is not only just but merciful. And second, because there can be nothing more pleasing to God than a sincere prayer.

Pray that the best portion of your life may not be overshadowed by idle fears. We have only life's brief moments to spend for the glory of God, and well does Satan know it. That is why he employs every ruse to make us consume them in useless labour. Dear sister, go often to Holy Communion, go very often-that is your one remedy.

When, with a truly filial confidence, we cast our faults into the consuming furnace of love, they will for certain be entirely consumed.

All things must come to the soul from its roots, from where it is planted.

I only want you to be warned, that if you would progress a long way on this road and ascend to the Mansions of your desire, the important thing is not to think much, but to love much.

Death can hold no bitterness for the soul that loves. It brings with it all the sweetness and delights of love. There is no sadness in the remembrance of it when it opens the door to all joy.

...when desire and concupiscence are quenched, the soul lives in spiritual tranquility and peace; for, where desire and concupiscence reign not, there is no disturbance, but peace and consolation of God.

Live by will rather than by imagination. If you feel your weakness, God wants you to make use of it in order to make acts of the will which you will offer Him as so many acts of love...He so loves you and He so wants you for His own, whatever may be the path whereby you must follow Him here below.

Unlike our friends in the world, He will never abandon us when we are troubled or distressed. Blessed is the one who truly loves Him and always keeps Him near.

The soul that is attached to anything however much good there may be in it, will not arrive at the liberty of divine union. For whether it be a strong wire rope or a slender and delicate thread that holds the bird, it matters not, if it really holds it fast; for, until the cord be broken the bird cannot fly.
