Pay no attention to the affairs of others, whether they be good or bad, for besides the danger of sin, this is a cause of distractions and the lack of spirit.

O my Jesus! You never ask what is impossible; You know better than I how frail and imperfect I am; You know that I shall never love my Sisters as You have loved them, unless You love them Yourself within me, my dearest Master.

My mirror has to be Mary. Since I am her daughter, I must resemble her, and in doing so I will resemble Jesus.

The exemplar of the soul is God, who must be stamped thereon as the seal on the wax, as the stamp on the object. Now that is fully realized only if the reason is completely enlightened by the knowledge of God, the will riveted into the love of the sovereign Good, and the memory totally absorbed in contemplating and enjoying the eternal happiness.

But remember that the love of supernatural charity is not a sensible love, it is a love of the will, in which it is not necessary to feel. It consists only in an interior decision of the will, with which the soul give God preference over creatures and wants to consecrate itself wholly to His service.

Take heart, Jesus hears even the last echo of our pain.

Merit is not to be found in doing much or in giving much, but rather in receiving and in loving much. It is said that it is far sweeter to give than to receive, and this is true. But when Jesus wants for Himself the sweetness of giving, it would not be gracious to refuse. Let Him take and give whatever He wants.

The cross and peace are my portion. But the cross and discouragement are the portion of the enemy and of those who listen to the enemy.

When it seems to you that the little bark of your soul is about to break, throw out into the sea of tribulation the anchor of hope and have confidence in the divine help. Have no fear that the most merciful God will allow himself to be surpassed by your confidence; He loves our souls so much that He gives much more than we ask of Him.

I do not desire sensible affection, a love that I feel, but only a love that is felt by Jesus. Oh! to love Him and cause Him to be loved!

When evening comes and a backward glance shows us that we have not finished even a minimum part of the work that we had planned and that much remains incomplete, when so many things provoke shame and sorrow, then let us take everything as it is and place it in the hands of God, entrusting it to Him. In this way we will be able to repose in Him, truly rest and to begin the new day as if it were a new life.

Just as the Lamb had to be killed to be raised upon the throne of glory, so the path to glory leads through suffering and the cross for everyone chosen to attend the marriage supper of the Lamb. All who want to be married to the Lamb must allow themselves to be fastened to the cross with him. Everyone marked by the blood of the Lamb is called to this, and that means all the baptized. But not everyone understands the call and follows it.
