When I think that previously I was envious of Mary Magdalene for having had Jesus in her home so many times, for having listened to Him, I become ashamed; for He did not abandon our earth.  He remains in the tabernacle.  There I look at Him in faith and listen to Him.

David also said that clouds and darkness are near God and surround him [Ps. 18:11], not because this is true in itself, but because it appears thus to our weak intellects, which in being unable to attain so bright a light are blinded and darkened.

It also happens very quickly and ineffably that God will show within Himself a truth that seems to leave in obscurity all those that are in creatures, and one understands very clearly that God alone is Truth, unable to lie.

All passes! In the evening of life, love alone abides ... all must be for love, one must without ceasing, forget oneself ... Oh, if only I had always done so!

You do not have enough trust. You have too much fear before the good God. I can assure you that He is grieved over this.

He reaches out His hand to us, the very moment He sees us fully convinced of our nothingness, and hears us cry out: 'My foot stumbles Lord, but Your mercy is my strength.'Ps. 93: 18. Should we attempt great things, however, even under pretext of zeal, He deserts us. So all we have to do is to humble ourselves, to bear with meekness our imperfections. Herein lies-for us -true holiness.

It is a serious evil to have more regard for God's blessings than for God Himself: prayer and detachment.

If we abandon ourselves, and place our confidence in God, while making every small effort and hoping for everything from His mercy, we shall be rewarded as much as the greatest saints.

We live too much our own individual lives and think much too little of how we are united with each other in and through God and all together with God. And yet therein lies our supreme worth and strength, our dignity.

Today there is a special need for the Baptism of spirit and fire. In the tremendous struggle between Christ and Lucifer, those who are called to instruct men constitute the vanguard. To arm ourselves for this struggle and to persevere always armed is our most urgent duty. "If salt loses its savor, with what will it be salted?"

Because the light and wisdom of this contemplation is very bright and pure, and the soul in which it shines is dark and impure, a person will be deeply afflicted on receiving it.

I have only to love Him, to let myself be loved, all of the time: to wake in Love, to move in Love, to sleep in Love,my soul in His Soul, my heart in His Heart, so that through contact with Him, He purifies me, and delivers me from my misery.
