O you souls who wish to go on with so much safety and consolation, if you knew how pleasing to God is suffering, and how much it helps in acquiring other good things, you would never seek consolation in anything; but you would rather look upon it as a great happiness to bear the Cross of the Lord.

How they came to disturb me after Communion! They stared me in the face... but in order not to be provoked, I thought of Our Lord, who retreated into solitude and was unable to prevent the people from following Him there. No matter how halfhearted such insights may be, God rejoices whenever we learn what he is trying to teach us.

As soon as you try to please Him in everything and have an unshakable trust He purifies you every moment in His love and He lets no sin remain.

What you most seek and desire you will not find by this way of yours, nor through high contemplation, but in much humility and submission of heart.

But we think we are giving God everything, whereas what we are really offering Him is the revenue or the fruits of our land while keeping the stock and the right of ownership of it in our own hands.

It is love alone that gives worth to all things.

She asks your pardon for her unbelieving brethren, and is willing to eat the bread of sorrow as long as You may wish. For love of You she will sit at that table of bitterness where these poor sinners take their food, and she will not stir from it until You give the sign.
