Now I ask You, Lord, not to abandon me at any time in my recollection, for I am a squanderer of my soul.

In stumbling, in falling with Christ, do not withdraw from the cross or abandon it. Consider carefully the fatigue with which He walks and how much greater His trials are than those trials you suffer, however great you may want to paint them and no matter how much you grieve over them.

O my Three, my All, my Beatitude, infinite Solitude, Immensity in which I lose myself, I surrender myself to You as Your prey. Bury Yourself in me that I may bury myself in You until I depart to contemplate in Your light the abyss of Your greatness.

Trust in God can remain unshaken only if it includes being prepared to accept absolutely everything from the hand of the Father.

Spiritual persons suffer great trials, by reason not so much of the aridities which they suffer, as of the fear which they have of being lost on the road, thinking that all spiritual blessing is over for them and that God has abandoned them since they find no help or pleasure in good things.

Leave it all to God and leave your interests in His hands. He knows what is fitting for us...

It is trust and nothing but trust that must lead us to Love.

Much will be asked of the one who has received much, and He as been so overwhelmingly generous to His little bride, but she abandons herself to His love and sings the hymn of His mercies while still on earth.

By contrast with the lethargy that comes from lack of vital energy, resting in God is something completely new and unique. The former was dead silence. Now it is replaced by the feeling of being safe, of being relieved from all anxiety and responsibility and obligation to act. And as I surrender myself to this feeling, little by little new life begins to fill me, and to stimulate me – without any exercise of my will – to new activity.

Oh, how good it is to go and be saved by Him at the times when we feel only our miseries; I am so full of them, but God has given me a Mother, the image of His mercy, who, with a single word, can calm all the anguish in the soul of her little child and give her wings to fly away beneath the rays of the Creator Star.

I have abandoned my free will to You so that henceforth You alone will be the possessor of my heart and Your holy Will the rule of my actions. I desire to love You with a patient love, a love dead to self - that is, a love which completely abandons me to You; an active love; to sum it all up, a solid love with no division within itself and which will stand regardless of what may happen.

For by doing what God demands of us with total surrender of our innermost being, we cause the divine life to become our own inner life. Entering into ourselves, we find God in our own selves.
