Oh, would that I could tell everyone what sources of strength, of peace and also of happiness they would find if they consented to live in this intimate union with Him. Only they do not know how to wait. If God does not bestow Himself in a manner they can feel, they leave His holy presence and when He comes to them, laden with graces, He finds nobody there. The soul has gone away into exterior things; it no longer dwells in its center. Recollect yourself from time to time.

Our Lord's love is revealed as perfectly in the most simple soul that resists His grace in nothing as in the most excellent soul...

Keep yourself from setting your thoughts upon what happens in the community, and still more from speaking of it except to the proper person at the proper time...For if you want to ponder on all that happens you would always discover something amiss even if you lived among angels.

Now, then, to enjoy a part in His kingdom and want no part in His dishonors and trials is nonsense.

I only think that the soul comes out of the crucible like gold, more refined and purified, so as to see the Lord within itself. So afterward these trials that seemed unbearable become small.

For You, O divine life, never kill unless to give life, never wound unless to heal.

Let us begin: perhaps He is only waiting for a single generous resolution from us.

Nothing is accomplished without effort, wihtout struggle. In our better moments, we no longer shed tears over our own weaknesses or over those of others, but we recall what was interiorly said to St. Paul: My grace is sufficient for you; in union with me you can do all things.

...some books on prayer tell us where one must seek God. Within oneself, very clearly, is the best place to look.

We have to learn to see others carry the cross and not be able to remove it from them. It is more difficult than to carry our own, but we cannot avoid it.

"Do you know the souls that most enjoy my Goodness?," said our Lord (to a chosen soul). "The ones who trust in me the most. Trusting souls are the ones who steal away my graces. I am all Love, and the greatest pain one can give my Heart is to doubt my Goodness."

We ought not to get tired of doing little things for the love of God, because He looks at the love rather than at the work.
