That thirst for prayer continually grows in me; my recollection is always continuous now, because whatever I do, I do with my Jesus and offer it to Him with love. When, for any reason whatever, I’m unable to make my prayer, I suffer at not being able to be with my God….

I abyss myself in His magnificence and His wisdom but when I ponder His goodness, my heart can say nothing – I can only Adore.

It is in prayer that the soul learns to know Jesus and thus to love him. Since love cannot be satisfied with difference but with equality, the result is union in similarity.

My prayer almost always consists of an intimate conversation with Our Lord. I imagine that like Magdalene I am at His feet, listening to Him. He tells me what I must do to please Him.

A soul united to Jesus and identified with him can do everything. It seems to me that this can be reached only by prayer.

That gaze of the soul at its Bridegroom inflames it with love. You can always look at Him. That sight of Jesus will bring you peace, if you are disturbed or exalted. It will fortify you, if you are cast down; it will bring you recollection, if you are dissipated.

I can say that my life is a continuous prayer, for everything I do I do it out out of love for my Jesus.

I don't know what happens to me when I contemplate Our God exiled in the tabernacles for love of His creatures who forget and offend Him.  I'd like to live till the end of the world by suffering together with the Divine Prisoner.

There are many degrees and kinds of prayer.  The first is meditation which consists in reflecting on a truth.  The essential point of prayer is to inflame the will in the love of God, for if that is attained, one has the strength to practice virtues.
