Man is, of all creatures, beloved of God. God created man, and before creating him He thought of him, loved him. This is our treasure: God has loved us, He has created us in love, and because He loves us He wants to draw us back to Himself.

The world esteems wealth, status, and other purely human qualities. True worth is in charity, in our thoughtfulness towards God, and in the love we have for our neighbor.

Jesus is mysterious. When we approach Him, usually He remains silent. In this silence, what is His attitude towards us? He tells us in the parable of the Good Shepherd: He sees us with His love, He knows us, and even if He remains silent, He knows exactly what we are, what we think, what we love and what we do.

Jesus is love. He loves us with an infinite love and at the same time with a human love. What joy it is to know that we are never strangers to him.
