Our Lord wishes that we mortify ourselves, for that is good, and it is well that we love it. He has first suffered for us and all those who would have to labor at His work. We must be His imitators in little things as in great ones...

Our Lord became a spring for us, so that we should not die of thirst among all the miseries that surround us.

It is not because I am good that our Lord granted me these favors, but that His goodness might be made manifest.
Although I was so unworthy of grace, this Adorable Master sought me out that even when I was least occupied with the thought of Him, in order that I might not be lost, and that His kindness might cause admiration.

On earth, the soul can have no other heaven than the will of God.
